Sheryl Crow's Spanish Colonial home in Hollywood

This month's issue of Architectural Digest featured Sheryl Crow's beautiful Hollywood estate. Most people expect celebrities to have elaborate homes like the ones featured on the show Cribs. Crow's house is decadent but not over the top or overly ornate. Her family compound, consisting of three properties, in Hollywood Hills is filled with mountain trails, views of the Pacific and lots of flora and fauna. The main Spanish Colonial estate was purchased in 1997 following Crow's album Tuesday Night Music Club. After two successful years as a musician, Crow was able to purchase the two neighboring properties containing a cottage and bungalow. Crow fell in love with the airy, open spaces after living in the house unfurnished for a year. Crow allowed the natural architecture of her home to remain gorgeous by keeping furnishings simple and underwhelming. The pictures below show this theory implemented. At first glance Crow's home seems too simple for a famous celebrity, but anyone who know Crow knows that flashy is not her style. It is only fitting that her home is laid back and simply lovely.

Crow's home was built in 1926 so it is only fitting that the light fixture is from 1930! Photo courtesy of Architectural Digest.

  2. I think Sheryl Crow's elegant house is actually reminiscent of her music: simple, earthy, beautiful, and not too over the top. Even though it's a mansion, Crow's home feels warm and welcoming. This definitely isn't the type of home you would expect from most celebrites. When I think of celebrity homes, I think of giant overly-elaborate monstrosities. Crow's home absolutely defies my expectations.

  3. Wow, this is really cool! I appreciate the tour of Sheryl Crow's house - something I would never have a chance to see in real life. I think the blog is awesome, and I never thought that architecture could be so exciting!
